Paris Garden Tour
Published on: 2008-12-12Sightseeing

Come visit the oldest Square in Paris.

Or, perhaps the garden created as the medicinal garden for Louis XIII.

Visit what may be the most beautiful park in Paris, Parc Monceau , surrounded by 18th century townhouses.

Paris boasts over 400 gardens parks and squares which cover over 30% of the City, making it one of the "greenest" cities in Western Europe.

The parks and gardens scattered throughout the city boast the widest imaginable variety of plants, trees and flowering shrubs.

Not to be missed, of course, are the royal gardens in all their formal splendor, the Luxembourg Garden and the Tuileries Garden.

The gardens included in the tour will vary according to time of year and to your own whims.

Hedonie
Published on: 2008-11-10Shopping

Located quite near to Saint Sulpice church, Hedonie is a natural foods and cosmetics store with over 4000 different items collected under one roof. In addition to the fresh fruits and vegetables that arrive daily, there is also coffee, tea, canned goods, spices, wine and cosmetics, and each one has been personally inspected and approved by the owner, Sylvie. With the organic food store Marchais standing on nearby Boulevard Raspail, this area boasts a lot of popular places, giving prospective customers some very wide eyes.
This isn't a place that only appeals to those committed to eating natural foods though.

There are plenty of delicious items carefully made by individual producers that aren't even organic, but it all works together perfectly. You'll even be introduced to traditional vegetables that are become increasingly rare year by year, such as the Beef Heart Tomato" and "Black Tomato . And there are plenty of great ideas for souvenirs to bring back to Japan. Although they're a little heavy, how about Sylvie's surprisingly tasty bottles of oiled sardines? And of course, they've gathered together lots of the latest organic wines.
And you certainly won't want to forget to pick up some of the fresh baked Poujauran bread you can buy here either! It's great to be able to get some of this traditional bread, which has been hard to get a taste of since the shop closed. One piece of the small size is just 90 cents (about 150 yen). Furthermore, since they've got the following lunch sets, you'll be able to easily enjoy a picnic in nearby Luxembourg Park.

Vegetarian (Salad or Soup Yogurt or Compote Drink Small Poujauran Bread) 5.75
Gourmand (Fish Salad or Tart or Pizza Drink Poujauran Bread) 6.60
Complete (Choose 2 from: Salad, Soup, Tart, or Pizza Drink Small Poujauran Bread) 8.95

Incidentally, having been in business for many years, Sylvie knows a bit about Japan and even has an image of a yuzu fruit in the store's logo.
